WHICH FORM OF CARE IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

PASTORAL COUNSELING

Our pastoral counseling uses an approach to care called Formational Prayer. It is focused on helping people explore their own story, making sense of their past and exploring the ways it continues to affect them in the present. Caregivers then positioning people to experience the healing and transforming power of Christ in those past hurts. With a past and present focus, pastoral counseling helps people experience a brighter future.

COME AWAY WITH ME RETREAT

We are wounded in community and we are also healed in community. The Come Away with Me Retreat is another intensive pastoral counseling experience that intentionally adds the healing power of community to the healing process. This retreat focuses on deep inner healing through the modality of Formational Prayer.

The retreats are led by a team of highly-gifted and professionally-trained caregivers who will help you work through the wounds that compromise life and ministry. During your experience, you will receive specialized attention in formational prayer that will position you for deep personal healing. You will be assigned to a caregiver who will meet with you each day during the retreat for a Formational Prayer session. The caregivers also work as a team and are available to all participants throughout the retreat. SPIRITUAL DIRECTION

Spiritual Direction is an ancient practice in which mature and highly trained Christians help others sense and discern the activity of God in their lives. Like an experienced travel guide pointing out landmarks a Spiritual Director may help a Christian notice things God is doing in their life that otherwise would have been missed. Through skills in listening, discerning, asking insightful questions, and leading spiritual practices, a Spiritual Director becomes a wise companion on the journey who can help Christians experience more of the Holy Spirit's movement in their lives. Though Spiritual Directors may help a person discern what God may have to say about their past or future, the focus of the Spiritual Director is on helping a person see and experience God in the present moment.

PEOPLE SEEKING SPIRITUAL DIRECTION MIGHT BE EXPERIENCING:

  • Significant life change

  • Desire to hear God's voice clearly

  • Stagnation in their Christian journey

  • A sense that there must be more

  • Desire for Spiritual Growth

  • Desire for greater peace and inner stillness

  • Confusion

  • Loss of Hope

CHRISTIAN COACHING

A Christian Coach is a skilled listener and thinking partner who can help draw out a person's inner capacity to hear God's voice and then develop strategies for change. While a counselor is focused on helping a person make sense of their past and overcome obstacles there, a coach is focused on helping a person overcome specific challenges in their present life situation. Often times we know of changes we want to make in our lives and might even have a vague sense of how to makes that change happen, but still we remain stuck in dysfunctional behaviors. A coach is trained to help you make the changes you want to make in your life so that you can live the life God has for you.
